Auckland teenager Jimmy Zheng sensed it might be his day when he made eagle on the par-four 10th hole at Palmerston North Golf Club.
It turned into the round of a lifetime for the 16-year-old Macleans College student who signed for a mind-boggling 12-under-par 60 at the New Zealand Secondary Schools finals on Monday.
Having shot a solid one-under 71 in the morning, Zheng came out firing after lunch to post a course-low score with help from a back nine of 27 which included the eagle and seven birdies.
